[Minami Area] Dotonbori

From the cutting edge of subculture to modern architecture by the waterfront, embark on a unique and ambitious one-time trip to Osaka, traversing both old and new "Osaka culture."

Day one begins in Minami, a district brimming with subculture energy. We'll recharge our energy at the giant lion's head of Nanba Yasaka Shrine and enjoy authentic Dotonbori cuisine. After experiencing the latest pop culture in Shinsaibashi, we'll shift gears and immerse ourselves in contemporary art in the modern space of Nakanoshima, and in the evening, enjoy a sophisticated time with fine dining in the quiet, grown-up neighborhood of Kitashinchi.

On the second day, we headed to the Kita area, a treasure trove of the latest trends. After hunting for limited-edition goods at Daimaru Umeda, we relaxed in a backstreet cafe in Nakazakicho, enjoying the retro atmosphere of the Showa era. We then made a smooth move to the venue for the main event and headed home, carrying the memories of the excitement with us.

Day 1: From the cutting edge of subculture to modern architecture by the waterfront. A journey through the old and new "Osaka culture."

11:00 Rise Hotel Osaka Kitashinchi

First, I'll leave my luggage at the hotel and travel light. From this adult retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Minami, I'll quietly prepare myself for the pre-event excitement before heading to my first destination.

Walking: Approximately 9 minutes

From Yodoyabashi Station, take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Namba Station (approximately 6 minutes).

Walking: Approximately 10 minutes

11:30 Namba Yasaka Shrine

This is Osaka's premier power spot, where a gigantic lion's head sits majestically. In front of the lion's stage, where its large mouth wards off evil and invites good fortune, let's pray for a safe trip and success in our "favorite activities."

Walking: Approximately 8 minutes

12:30 Dotonbori (Lunch)

Head to Dotonbori, the quintessential Minami district of Osaka. Enjoy taking commemorative photos with the giant billboards as a backdrop, and savor the vibrant atmosphere and flavors of Naniwa (Osaka) with authentic okonomiyaki and takoyaki.

Walking: Approximately 8 minutes

14:00 Daimaru Shinsaibashi Store

[Pokémon and Kirby Holy Land] The first "Kirby Cafe OSAKA" in Western Japan and a "Pokémon Center" have gathered here. Explore stores where you can find limited edition goods and immerse yourself in the world of Kirby.

From Shinsaibashi Station, take the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line to Yodoyabashi Station (approximately 3-minute ride).

Walking: Approximately 14 minutes

16:30 Osaka Nakanoshima Museum

In the evening, we'll return to the art zone near the hotel. Enjoy a luxurious time immersing ourselves in contemporary art in a jet-black, modern space, allowing the excitement of shopping to subside in a refined atmosphere.

Walking: Approximately 10 minutes

18:00 Dinner in Kitashinchi

To cap off the day, head to Kitashinchi, a quiet yet vibrant neighborhood perfect for adults, conveniently located near your destination for the next day. This location allows you to enjoy a special time just for yourselves at a traditional Japanese restaurant or a hidden Italian eatery.

21:00 un-treize

If you're still not quite satisfied with the drinks, head to "Entreise" on the first floor of the hotel.
You can relax and enjoy the lingering memories of your trip with a glass of wine or cocktail in hand, while soaking up the calm atmosphere that is characteristic of Kitashinchi.
The Rise Hotel offers the unique opportunity to enjoy a high-quality nightlife without having to venture out into the city.
The ease of being able to return to your room quickly is another appealing feature for guests.

Enjoy a superior night's sleep at Rise Hotel Osaka Kitashinchi.

Walking: Approximately 14 minutes

10:00 Daimaru Umeda Store

[A Holy Site for Nintendo and Pokémon] I headed to "Nintendo OSAKA" right after it opened. I took photos with the giant statues of Mario and Link, and then went to the adjacent Pokémon Center to collect all the limited edition items.

Walking: Approximately 6 minutes

From Higashi-Umeda Station, take the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line to Nakazakicho Station (approximately 2-minute ride).

Walking: Approximately 5 minutes

12:00 Nakazakicho (cafe)

The Nakazakicho area retains its retro Showa-era row houses. In a stylish hidden cafe nestled in a maze of back alleys, you can enjoy taking photos with your favorite idol and savoring homemade sweets.

Walking: Approximately 10 minutes

From Osaka Station, take the JR Loop Line to Taisho Station (approximately 10-minute ride).

Walking: Approximately 10 minutes

14:00 Kyocera Dome Osaka

I'll head back to Umeda from Nakazakicho, then take the JR Osaka Loop Line (inner loop) from JR Osaka Station to Taisho Station. This direct, no-transfer route will allow me to wisely conserve my energy before the event. I'll then fully enjoy the main events, including the live performances, sports, and merchandise sales.

From Taisho Station, take the JR Loop Line to Osaka Station (approximately 10-minute ride).

Walking: Approximately 15 minutes

17:00 Return to hotel

After picking up our luggage at the hotel, we headed to Shin-Osaka and Umeda stations for various train lines. With a sense of fulfillment from having experienced culture and excitement, we enjoyed the lingering memories of our trip as we made our lighthearted journey home.
